The Saginaw Police Department responded to a complaint regarding a probable self-inflicted gunshot wound at a property in the 200 block of Lottie Lane about 10 p.m. on Monday. Kimberly Knapp was located on a bed with a gunshot wound to her chest by officers. The officers responded quickly, applying pressure on the wound until MedStar and the Saginaw Fire Department arrived.
Sadly, despite their attempts, Knapp died upon arrival at John Peter Smith Hospital.
Magby was identified as the primary suspect in the police inquiry. Investigators concluded that he was responsible for Knapp’s death based on the evidence uncovered. Magby, the sole other tenant in the house at the time of the crime, was detained using an arrest warrant acquired by the investigators.
Magby and Knapp were in a dating or intimate relationship, according to police investigations. The reason for the shooting is still being investigated.
