Ricochet Is Drastically Improving NXT Live Event Attendance

Ricochet hasn’t been in WWE long, but in a short amount of time, he’s making an impression. A recent report is that the new NXT star has been improving the attendance numbers for NXT live events, likely because of his reputation as a high-flyer and must-see talent.

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that he heard that Ricochet’s name has helped boost ticket sales for NXT house shows. For a brand that will likely tour more often as the next step in their development, attendance at live events is huge. Speculation is that a debate might present itself, one side arguing for an earlier call-up to the main roster than originally expected and the other that WWE should keep Ricochet in NXT to help gate revenues.

Ricochet has only had a few matches in NXT including a 6-man ladder match followed by a victory over Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II. On both occasions, he was spoken of as the talent who stole the show. This after joining NXT as a highly-touted independent star who was considered a huge get for the company.

Ricochet has not been crowned a champion for WWE or NXT, but that may not be far off if WWE sees him as bankable. Arguably one of the top three babyfaces on the NXT brand, WWE is learning his drawing power is undeniable. At this point, it will be up to WWE to take advantage of what his ability to bring in fans means.

Ricochet is next slated to take on EC3 at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn and if he once again steals the show and proves his value as a top star in the company, WWE may bring him up to Raw or SmackDown Live sooner than expected.
