When one is accused of a crime and is being tried in court, the wisest thing to do is not to laugh while your case is being looked into. Jesus Ayala and Jzamir Keys are two teenagers who were accused of fatally running over a retired police chief while the old man was on a bike.

Jesus Ayala and Jzamir Keys Laugh In Court

On Tuesday, after more than two months, Jesus Ayala, 18, and Jzamir Keys, 16, returned to court. In the video, they were accused of purposefully colliding with retired police chief Andreas Probst, 64, when he was out on a morning bike ride.

The teenagers’ shenanigans started as soon as they sat down for the hearing in Clark County court. They first covered their mouths to seem like they were trying to stop laughing, and then they covered the right side of their faces to hide from the cameras.

The teenagers are being tried as adults after being charged with murder when they were both juveniles at the time of Probst’s death.

Probst’s family condemned the kids for their atrocious actions, claiming they “really had no remorse.”

“How can you sit there after taking a man’s life and act like such an entitled p—k?” Taylor Probst, Andreas’ 27-year-old daughter, told reporters outside the courthouse. “They really had no remorse; this is just a game to them.”

In the courtroom on Tuesday, Ayala’s public attorney, David Westbrook, also seemed to be laughing with the teenager.

Westbrook expressed his displeasure with the bodycam footage’s publication, claiming he should have seen it before the media—which got access to it via a public records request—was shown it.

The public defender added that the widespread media coverage, which infuriated Probst’s wife, had him worried about selecting jurors who would fairly consider the case.

“It was your people who put it in the media first; your clients are the ones that put that on social media,” Crystal Probst said, referring to the in-car view of the horrific August killing.

“They were just trying to mad-dog us and intimidate us, which didn’t work,” Taylor Probst added.

As they left the courthouse, Jesus Ayala and Jzamir Keys, their hands shackled to a “belly chain,” turned to the gallery and grinned at the Probst family.

Wearing her late husband’s broken Apple Watch, Crystal Probst was unmoved by the lethal pair’s threats.

“It just makes him look bad,” she told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, saying Jesus Ayala pointed his middle finger toward her.

Jesus Ayala Reportedly Said During Arrest He Would Be Out In No Time

Jesus Ayala informed police that he would be out of jail in a month when he was first taken into custody on August 14.

“You think this juvenile [expletive] is gonna do some [expletive]? I’ll be out in 30 days, I’ll bet you,” Ayala told officers after he was arrested in September.

The 18-year-old questioned the officer in bodycam footage that was made public on Monday about how “really that serious” the collision was.

“Is it really that serious, like for real, over supposedly me crashing a car?” Ayala asked the officer transporting him following his arrest.

“You think I’m gonna come out on the news?” Ayala later asked the officer.

“It won’t be for anything good, it won’t make your mama proud,” the officer responded.

Jesus Ayala’s Mother Surprised He Could Do That

Ayala’s mother has garnered media attention by expressing her inability to comprehend her son’s actions.

“I don’t know why he did this,” Ayala said. “I don’t know if God can forgive this.”

Taylor Probst holds the families of Keys and Ayala mostly responsible for the adolescents’ failures.

“A multitude of different people failed, but I think ultimately the parents on all ends. They’re the ones that failed.”
